When I offered Tommy, back in June 1996, to do a French web page on him, on top of not knowing how to do a web page, I didn’t even have Internet access at home, so needless to say, I was starting from scratch! Despite all of the obstacles, I was determined to make this happen.  The very first page was hosted on a server at the university where my husband was studying.  A few weeks after, we finally got our own Internet access with the company Sympatico because it included 5 Meg of web space!  WOW!  I was in heaven.  Then a few months after, in August, STYX came back to Montreal and I met Tommy again.  We were able to take pictures and he also gave me some so I could scan them and put them on the web page.  It was still too small to call it a web site.  Everything was in French, except for one section that was bilingual in the beginning and that was the “Back in time” section where were published old articles about Styx’ shows in Montreal back in the 70s.  We were limited with what we could do on the web back then, but still, it was an informative page and from the comments I was receiving, the French speaking fans were really enjoying it.  And then, Tommy started sending notes!  More to come…

Lorsque j’ai offert à Tommy, en juin 1996, de faire sa page Web, non seulement je n’avais aucune idée comment faire, mais je n’avais pas d’accès Internet à la maison.  J’étais à me demander ce qui m’avait passé par la tête de lui offrir ça !  Mais malgré les obstacles, j’étais déterminée.  La toute première version de la page a été hébergé par un serveur de l’université où étudiait mon mari.  Quelques semaines après, nous avons eu notre connexion Internet à la maison avec le service de Sympatico parce qu’il offrait 5 megs d’espace Web.  En août, Tommy et STYX sont revenus à Montréal.  J’ai pu le revoir et nous avons pris des photos pour la page.  On ne parlait pas encore d’un site étant donné le peu d’information qu’il y avait mais quand même, tout était en français sauf une section de vieux articles sur le groupe lors de leurs belles années dans la métropole.  Nous étions limités au niveau du Web à ce moment là, mais le site était quand même informatif et plaisait particulièrement aux fans francophones. Et là, Tommy s’est mis à envoyer des notes.  À suivre…
